Target Audience

This program is intended for endocrinologists, cardiologists, primary care physicians, hospitalists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, certified diabetes educators, and other healthcare providers who care for patients with type 2 diabetes.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
  • Identify patients at risk for T2DM and implement evidence-based prevention strategies that take into consideration patients’ cultural beliefs and practices
  • Identify and address cultural barriers that may impede successful treatment and self-care in patients with T2DM

Goal


The goal of this activity is to improve participants’ clinical competence in preventing T2DM and at applying culturally competent treatment strategies in the management of patients with T2DM and associated cardiovascular risks. The live meeting series will focus on high risk patients and will be hosted by clinicians who practice in the US "diabetes belt.”
