Patient Simulation

This immersive Patient SimX activity will provide practical strategies for early intensification of T2D management that prioritizes sustained weight loss to improve long-term outcomes in patients with T2D and overweight or obesity. The activity allows the participant to explore and guide the management of 2 different patient case scenarios.

Nurses: 1.50 Nursing contact hours

Target Audience

The target audience for the education are endocrinologists and obesity specialists, physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and physician associates/physician assistants.

Program Learning Goal

The goal of this program is to allow learners to demonstrate and improve their application of knowledge and improvement in clinical performance to optimize the treatment for patients with obesity.  

Learning Objectives

  • Evaluate patients based on the guideline-recommended criteria for diagnosis and treatment of obesity
  • Apply the latest efficacy and safety data to select antiobesity medications for appropriate patients with obesity
  • Integrate patient needs and preferences into the development of comprehensive obesity treatment plans
  • Assess obesity treatment based on patient tolerability, adherence, and progress toward individual weight loss goals

Instructions for Credit

Participation in this self-study activity should be completed in approximately 1.5 hours. To successfully complete this activity and receive credit, participants must follow these steps during the period from December 13, 2022, through December 12, 2023:

4. Submit answers to the posttest questions and evaluation questions online.

You must receive a test score of at least 100% and respond to all evaluation questions to receive a certificate. After submitting the evaluation, you may access your online certificate by selecting the certificate link on the posttest confirmation page.
