Capsule Summary:
Virologic Benefit of Directly Observed Therapy Not Maintained Among HIV-Infected Drug Users Following Switch to Self-Administered Therapy
Although virologic suppression was significantly higher following 6 months of DOT vs SAT among HIV-infected drug users, a switch from DOT to SAT for 6 additional months was associated with levels of virologic suppression comparable with those observed among patients receiving continuous SAT.
